dCS Ring DAC Apex Announced
Today dCS has announced it will be Introducing the Ring DAC™APEX In March 2022
This next generation hardware will debut in the dCS Vivaldi DAC, Rossini DAC and Rossini Player and delivers a range of sonic and measured improvements for dCS owners.
For over 30 years, dCS has strived to set the standard for digital playback and deliver a truly state-of-the-art experience for all dCS owners. This requires constant innovation and an absolute dedication to achieving the finest possible levels of sound reproduction. dCS engineers never stop exploring how they can enhance their products and technologies and in turn the musical performance their systems provide. Even after a product is released they continue to invest in developing new features and technologies and creating novel solutions that can aid them in their mission to bring people closer to their favourite artists and sounds.
Wherever possible, these innovations are made available to existing dCS owners either in the form of free software downloads or physical upgrades, both of which allow customers to receive the latest dCS hardware without having to purchase a whole new system. In 2017, for example, dCS released a major upgrade to the mapping algorithm and software at the core of the Ring DAC™-the unique Digital to Analogue conversion system that lies at the heart of all dCS DACs. In 2020, it developed a novel headphone processing platform designed to enhance headphone listening for owners of the Bartók Headphone DAC. dCS believe its customers should be able to participate in its latest discoveries and benefit from new advancements as and when these are released. dCS know that purchasing a dCS product is an investment and the company strives to honour that investment through continual innovation.
Next month dCS is launching a new version of the Ring DAC for two renowned systems within the product range: the Vivaldi and Rossini. Following extensive research and development, it made some major changes to the hardware portion of the dCS Ring DAC, and has reconfigured the Ring DAC’s circuitboard and developed an all-new analogue output stage. This has allowed dCS to reduce distortion, improve linearity, and deliver both measured and subjective improvements in a range of key areas, taking the Ring DAC’s world-leading performance to a new level. It has also allowed dCS to enhance the performance of the much-loved dCS Vivaldi DAC, Rossini DAC, and Rossini Player.
On March 4th 2022, dCS will release a new generation of Vivaldi DACs, Rossini DACs, and Rossini Players. These next generation APEX models will feature the new Ring DAC™APEX hardware as standard. They will also offer the Ring DAC™APEX upgrade to existing Vivaldi and Rossini owners through a global upgrade programme.
dCS is hugely excited to deliver this latest innovation. Through hard work, dedication and creative thinking, the dCS engineering team have been able to once again raise the bar for audio performance and the subjective feedback from their critical listening experts has been incredibly positive. The company is looking forward to sharing the results of its work with the audio community and of course its valued dCS customers as well as those who are new to dCS .
